SPOTTED ANALYSIS
RACE 2 #2 UNSUNG HERO
Confirmed his promise when emerging as the clear second-best performer behind the highly regarded Secret Passage over 990m on his latest outing. That effort was backed up by a strong adjusted time of 54.84s, a figure that compares favourably against the standard for this grade. Drawn ideally in gate 2, he should enjoy a favourable passage throughout and looks set to secure a prominent position from the outset. His credentials are further enhanced by leading the field on both CFG Rating and Speed Rating, highlighting his consistency and overall competitiveness. Rates as one of the leading contenders and looks the principal danger to the favourite.
RACE 4 #3 SALT 'N PEPPA
Produced an encouraging debut performance when finishing fourth, only 2.60 lengths behind War Chariot over 1365m. The effort was full of merit and suggested there is plenty more improvement to come with race experience. Particularly eye-catching was the manner in which he finished off his race, recording the best Time Factor and emerging as the fastest finisher among today's field. Those figures point to a horse with considerable upside and the ability to produce a powerful late surge when conditions suit. Faces what appears to be an average field on this occasion and stands out prominently on both CFG Rating and Speed Rating. Looks exceptionally well placed and rates as the horse they all have to beat.
RACE 7 #6 RAPIDASH
Announced himself as one of the most exciting newcomers on the island when capturing the season's first Classic over 1400m in impressive fashion. Settled towards the rear in the early stages before unleashing a devastating turn of foot from the 600m mark, sweeping past his rivals to score from last position. The performance was backed up by excellent sectional figures, notably a 45.05s adjusted time for the final 800m, highlighting the quality of his finishing effort. Although faced with a difficult draw this time around, his racing style suggests he will once again be switched off in the early stages before launching his challenge late. His current form is outstanding and remains one of the strongest credentials on offer in this field. If reproducing his Classic-winning performance, he will be a major force despite the wide draw.
